Architectural Environments

Series Editors

Akel Ismail Kahera, Clemson University
Craig Anz, Southern Illinois University

Series Description

The Architectural Environments series explores the many ways that designers, authors, artists, architects, and critical theorists contend with and transform spaces. The series challenges authors and readers to rethink the critical dimensions of built environments and design practices across diverse global contexts, from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and beyond. We are also interested in reflective scholarship that examines the constructive nature of architecture, urbanism, planning and design practices, as well as how the environment reciprocally inhabits and becomes inhabited in multifaceted, layered, and even augmented forms.  We would like authors to examine environmental discourses and open alternative avenues of inquiry in epistemology, aesthetics, ethics, dysnomia, identity, otherness, reciprocity, axiology, phenomenology, nomos, modality, chronology, networks of beliefs, topos. and more.

Books in the Architectural Environments series will be published as platforms of interconnected, interdependent texts and media, including print and diverse media formats and networks. Proposals for new books in the series should address the ways that the work will take advantage of these platforms.

Scholars, teachers, and creative professionals are encouraged to submit new work. In addition to books that engage disciplinary conversations, the Architectural Environments series is interested in publishing innovative books that reach out to audiences beyond academic specialists by addressing topics of contemporary relevance or popular interest and writing in an accessible, jargon-free style.
